Special Voting Hours on 11/4

Special Voting Hours on 11/4

The City of Marshall will offer special voting hours held at City Hall on Saturday, November 4th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The final day for absentee voting will be Monday, November 6th from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The special election referendum is to decide if existing sales tax should be extended and used for a new aquatic center. There will be one ballot question that is a “Yes” or a “No” to extend the existing sales tax. This will not be an increase in property taxes.

Voters will need to fill out an Absentee Application to receive a ballot. Ballots can be completed at City Hall and immediately returned, or voters can take their ballot home and return it back to City Hall. Absentee ballots may NOT be delivered to the polling place and must be returned to City Hall before 3:00 p.m. on Election Day. Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted. A person can deliver up to 3 ballots to City Hall but must show identification and fill out a form before the ballots can be accepted.

Absentee ballots are available on the 2nd floor of City Hall at the City Clerk’s office, or a ballot can be requested online at MNVOTES.ORG. If requesting a ballot online, please ensure that there is enough time for the absentee ballot to be mailed and returned. An assistive voter device is available for absentee voting.

To be able to register to vote, you must be a US Citizen, 18 years old on election day, have been a Minnesota resident for at least 20 days, and show proof of residence. A list of acceptable documents is available on MNVOTES.ORG and will also be listed on the voter registration form.

Voting for residents on election day will be held at the following locations in Marshall:

  • Ward 1 - Red Baron Arena (2nd floor) - 1651 Victory Drive
  • Ward 2 - Marshall Middle School Gymnasium - 401 South Saratoga Street
  • Ward 3 - YMCA - 200 South A Street
