Ray Henriksen Named Employee of the Year

Mayor Bob Byrnes and City Administrator Sharon Hanson recently presented Building Services Coordinator Ray Henriksen with recognition as the city’s 2021 Employee of the Year.  Mr. Henriksen was recognized with this honor during the city’s Annual Employee Recognition Event held March 11, 2022.

Mr. Henriksen started with the City of Marshall on October 19, 1992 as a Building Inspector and was promoted to Building Inspector II on April 2, 2010. In early 2018, Mr. Henriksen was promoted to Building Services Coordinator that includes serving as the city’s designated Building Official.

In addition to his building services duties, Mr. Henriksen started with the Marshall Fire Department in 1987 where he held the leadership positions of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain and Assistant Fire Chief for the past 25 years. Mr. Henriksen retired from the Marshall Fire Department in March of this year after 35 years of service.

Administrator Sharon Hanson when presenting Mr. Henriksen with the Employee of the Year recognition credited him with being someone who steps up when asked and his role in providing leadership and expert advice on one of the city’s largest projects in 2021-the City Hall Project. “Ray is someone you can count on, a good and honest person and so deserving of this award,” said Hanson.

Public Works Director Jason Anderson expressed how Ray “exemplifies professionalism and is always open to any work task that is brought forward to him”.  Director Anderson also commented on the City Hall project stating “Ray’s constant presence on the project and positive attitude toward taking this on was very important and instrumental in the completion of a successful project”.

Congratulations City of Marshall 2021 Employee of the Year-Building Services Coordinator Ray Henriksen.
