E.J. Moberg Appointed Director of Administrative Services

The City of Marshall has named E.J. Moberg as the city’s next Director of Administrative Services. The position was posted for applicants due to current Director of Administrative Services Annette Storm submitting her resignation to pursue another career opportunity.  Moberg was selected following a hiring process that includes an interview panel that included representatives from the city council, staff, and the city’s finance consulting firm. The position of Director of Administrative Services will report directly to the City Administrator.

 

Moberg has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration from Southwest Minnesota State University. Moberg’s previous career experience includes over fourteen years with the Minnesota Office of the State Auditor. That experience included various position levels and culminating to the position of Local Government Audit Director. Since October 2012, Moberg has served as Lyon County Auditor/Treasurer, a role that included serving as the county's chief financial officer, property tax administrator, as well as the chief election official at the county level.  Moberg also is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Moberg was awarded the Outstanding Member of the Year by the Minnesota Association of County Auditors, Treasurers and Finance Officers for 2018.

 

City Administrator Sharon Hanson stated that Moberg’s extensive experience and his dedication to the field of accounting and finance makes him a great fit for the position, “We feel very fortunate to be able to fill this position with an individual who is highly respected in his field and has the ability to take on the challenges of city finance operations that intersects with every department in our organization.”

Moberg is scheduled to begin his duties February 28, 2022.
