John DeCramer Presented Community Service Award

The City of Marshall is proud to announce Councilmember John DeCramer was presented this year’s Community Service Award by the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA). This award is given to an individual who has performed long and well in support of a municipal utility at the local level.  

DeCramer has served on the Marshall City Council for over 6 years, from 2009 to the present and is the Council appointed liaison to the Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) Commission. Prior, DeCramer also served on the MMU Commission from 1996-2006.

In nominating DeCramer, MMU Commission Chair Cindy Verschaetse noted DeCramer’s extensive knowledge of legislative issues for the industry, governmental regulations, and working knowledge to that has benefited MMU. 

In addition, Verschaetse shared that DeCramer helped recruit top-notch general managers, and his gentle, humble leadership has helped the utility serve the residents of Marshall with low rates and efficient service.

DeCramer was announced the Community Service Award recipient at the MMUA Summer Conference that was held August 16-18, 2021.
