Mrs. Whitney Buckets

The City of Marshall is selling commemorative buckets to celebrate Mrs. Whitney who named and blessed our town. We have three different bucket options; a small bucket, a large unplanted bucket and a large bucket planted with beautiful flowers from Greenwood Nursery. Small and large unplanted buckets are available for sale at the Lyon County Museum. You will receive an email confirmation when the planted buckets are ready for pickup at the Marshall Parks Department.

Stop by the Lyon County Museum to pick up a deck of commemorative 150th playing cards! These playing cards would be a great gift option and cost only $5 per deck.

150th Mrs. Whitney Quilt Panels

Stop by Graceful Marilyn Quilt Shoppe to see the beautiful Mrs. Whitney quilt panels available for sale! The bigger of the two is approximately 32"x40" and sells for $30. The other is a smaller fat quarter size or about 18"x22" and retails for $20.

SMSU RHA Photography Contest

Photos from in or around Marshall celebrating the City’s 150th Anniversary have been submitted and a winner has been chosen! Congratulations to Trent Paulsen on the winning photo! Winning prints will be displayed in the City of Marshall offices.

May 19th: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM | Bingo

Marshall 150th City Bingo. Join us at the Red Baron Arena & Expo and let’s kick of the 150th celebration with a big old game of BINGO. Hosted by Visit Marshall. This is an age 18+ event.
Bingo packet is $20, Bingo starts promptly at 6:00PM. Doors open at 5:00PM.
Drinks available for purchase by the Hitching Post. Dinner available for purchase at 5pm from the Hitching Post, $10 Sandwich Buffet.

August 19th - 21st | The NIFTY 150 Shotgun Shoot

Shooters Sporting Clays presents THE NIFTY 150 .... 150 Clay Targets for 150 years.

Non-registered fun shoot for everyone which includes all disciplines of Sporting Clays, 5-Stand, Trap, Skeet, Trap Doubles, and Wobble Trap. Shoot whatever target events you'd like or shoot the entire program of 150 targets.

A SHOOTERS membership will get you the $15 daily range fee waived, PLUS save on every target at this event or find the coupon in the Marshall Chamber Coupon Book to get your $15 daily range fee waived.

This event is also being held during SMSU Gold Rush Days (Aug 18th-21st) before college classes begin Monday, August 22nd. SMSU students - check out our facility and let's get that SMSU Shooting Sports Club started!

August 18th: 11:30 AM | Community Art Piece & Trail DedicationJoin us at Independence Park in the unveiling of the community art piece that Artist Tamara Isfeld has helped create for future generations of Marshall to enjoy! Located along Highway 23, the mosaic art piece will be an eye-catching attraction for the community and it's visitors!

August 18th: 7:00 PM | "150 Years of Fashion" Show

The Lyon County Museum and the Marshall Downtown Business Association will be hosting a fashion show demonstrating the different styles from the past 150 years. The event will take place at the Mercantile Building next to Bello Cucina in downtown Marshall.

August 19th: 5:00 PM | City of Marshall Birthday Party

Join us in celebrating Marshall’s 150th birthday with a party! Enjoy live music, crafts, and activities for the whole family including a magic show by illusionist Jett Skrien. Food trucks and Brau Brothers beer will also be available during the event! The 150th committee is looking for groups to host games, activities, crafts and more for this family-focused event.

August 19th: 8:00 PM | Illusionist Jett Skrien

The City of Marshall is honored to host Illusionist, Jett Skrien during our 150th Celebration. Jett, a native to Marshall is the fastest growing young illusionist who has performed his high caliber, innovative, and engaging show across the country. He not only brings a fresh, new perspective to the art of magic but presents his award-winning magic with the stage presence of a savvy veteran. Jett has had the opportunity to perform internationally, as well as in the entertainment capital of the United State: Branson, Missouri. August 20th: 8:30 AM | Stepping Out of Summer Tiger 5K Fun Run

The Marshall Area YMCA and Marshall M Club have joined together to create a fun and colorful 5K event held at Independence Park! Walk or run the 5K and then get your camera ready for a huge color blast! All proceeds go toward participation scholarships for MHS student-athletes and YMCA Scholarships. In collaboration with Shades of the Past, come check out vehicles from different decades of Marshall’s history! The Vintage Vehicle Show and Touch-A-Truck Event will be located in the Schwan’s parking lot on the corner of West College Drive and Saratoga Street.
