"Jump In, Make A Splash" Committee

A group of citizens have come together to support the new Marshall Aquatic Center following the successful referendum that allows for a majority of the aquatic center to be paid for from sales tax revenue. The Jump In, Make A Splash Committee encourages and actively supports the construction of the new Marshall Aquatic Center and strives to fulfill its mission by working collaboratively with the City of Marshall and the Marshall Community Foundation.

Committee Co-Chairs Marc Klaith and Amanda Schwartz both expressed strong support for providing the opportunity to donate or sponsor an amenity.

Marc Klaith, Jump In, Make A Splash Committee Co-Chair stated, “We are excited to be able to present donation and sponsorship opportunities to our fellow community members and businesses. We have seen firsthand how our community sees the value in these important projects and rallies together to make them happen.”

The purpose of the committee is to identify, advocate for, and bring private financial support as well as sponsorship opportunities to assist in the funding of additional amenities such as a body slide flume, lily pad water walk, climbing wall and more shade structures.

“We know this project will have long-term positive impacts for the community,” stated Amanda Schwartz, Co-Chair of the Jump In, Make A Splash Committee. “This is an opportunity for the community to participate in the success of a new facility. We have already received interest in providing additional funding, which is extremely encouraging and exciting.”

The committee has worked closely with the City of Marshall on getting the word out on their goal by issuing a letter to all residents and businesses who may see this as an opportunity to support a generational project in our community. All donations are being made to the Marshall Community Foundation, who is serving as the fiscal agent for the project and managing the aquatic center fund for additional amenities.

Construction of the new Marshall Aquatic Center is tentatively scheduled to begin in fall of 2024. For questions regarding the project, please contact Preston Stensrud, Parks and Recreation Superintendent at preston.stensrud@ci.marshall.mn.us or 507-537-6786.
